Trip Wire Fence

Normal trip wire use a Y-standard steel pole of 600mm.

When the post is planted, the height above ground level should be 280-300mm.

Distance from existing fence: 600 – 1,000mm, where a short offset bracket can be used on the same side as the trip wire.

 

The use of a “Trip Wire”

Prevent crawling game from crawling through a fence. To be placed strategically to stop problem animals such as warthogs before they storm the existing fence, or start digging through. Very useful for crawling game such as lions, pigs, cheetahs and wild dogs.

 

Where lions cause the biggest problem, the fence can be adjusted by planting a 1.5m Securilec Y-standard, extended 900mm above ground level. Three electric wires can be installed as shown in picture below:
